Why's It Gotta Be Cancel Culture

dramageddon's on social media platforms, celebrities, people being cancelled for a choice or opinion, pasts being drug up, you can be cancelled for just about anything these days. How is it possible for an idea, movement, or just a person to be publicly cancelled? I do understand not wanting to support a person or business that has been found to be doing actual wrongdoing, but it seems that it has now just become a way of life for individuals to band together and attack someone or a business for things that are sometimes not even proven. What happened to being innocent until found guilty.

On social media, we had things like Jeffree Star, Shane Dawson and Tati Westbrook trying to cancel James Charles, and all the clapping back and fan attacks, almost seems like a shark sensing blood in the water, and someone purposely set that into motion. What has happened to us that we are so angry that we feel we have to end someone's career or bash them when they have done nothing to us? Even with serious allegations, there needs to be a trial, where evidence is presented and things are proven to be true, its not prosecuting them first and then asking questions later. If you label and judge people or ask for their career or livelihood to be ended completely, how is that being or doing any better than what you are accusing people and businesses of.

Even the football player Aaron Rodgers who plays for the Green Bay Packers is now being cancelled for making comments about the "woke cancel culture," his vaccination status, and speaking his personal opinions and experience. In an interview with Pat McAfee he even goes over the fact that is allergic to things within the covid-19 vaccine, speaks with his doctor's and still took steps to prevent contracting the virus. Why is it our job to try to end a man's career for having an opinion or speaking their mind?

This last one really irritates me, because there is different information about this vaccine coming out nearly every day, there is new strains of the virus, and people that have received the vaccine are still contracting the virus. We don't have enough information to end someone for being scared to get the vaccine, allergic to things in the vaccine, or are not recommended to get it by their physicians and things because of possible side effects and things. We should be trying to build each other up. We shouldn't be trying to cancel or end people, all of this negativity is the world that we are building and leaving for our children. Instead of trying to hurt, cancel, or shun others we should be finding ways to connect and support others. Try looking for more positivity instead of allowing these things to become our new way of life.
