It can feel hard at the end of a month to feel like you accomplished something. Instead most of the time it feels like other things are looming over you that you haven't completed yet. Especially for those of us that tend to overthink and worry about things.
What I try to do instead is look at all of the tasks or goals that I set out to do that month. Along with having longer term goals, I set goals for each month as well. Whether it be finishing up a LinkedIn course, re-organizing a room in my house, decorating for a holiday, or finishing a big project. By giving myself more easily accomplished tasks along with future goals I am able to. keep myself busy and more focused on what I am aiming for.
This month my goals were to create a blog, promote my blog on social media, get my bedroom organized and set up for the new baby, and to complete two LinkedIn learning courses. I was able to accomplish these goals by planning things out, taking breaks as necessary, and by writing myself a numbered list of the things I wanted to complete each day and in what order.
By always having something to work towards I am less likely to dwell on negative things and stay looking ahead instead of at the past. I find it easier if I am constantly looking in the present and future for what I seek. I have always been a bit of a dreamer so goals and tasks keep me more grounded in the here and now. All the past holds for me is lessons that I have already learned, the future holds all of the knowledge and experience I have yet to find and gain. There is so much in the world that I want to know about and be a part of. I just have to be patient enough to keep meeting the small goals that will get me there.
